Students are assessed through observation and assessment in order to determine eligibility for mental health services. This means that it has been determined that there are mental health needs that limit the student’s ability to benefit from Special Education and Related Services. The services that may be offered to support the student will normally include individual counseling and case management. In some instances students need a more restrictive setting for educational benefit. The evaluation will make specific recommendations for a student’s mental health needs so that the student can make progress in school and in life.
